Vote for Bushman!!

We had a taste of election mania this Fall with our oldest son running for Student Body President. He was nominated by a classmate and made the cuts, taking the election between him and one other boy. The night before his speech and election day, he created a flyer and recruited his sister to help him out.

Well, he made a great run but ended up losing by two votes. The other boy was a Senior. He is an early-graduating Junior. Even though you didn't win, you tried and gained experience. Also, you were a fine example of a good loser and that's a lesson in and of itself!

Involvement in Student Government is an extra bang for college applications, scholarships and resumes. Consider urging your child to take a stab at it.

The next week, the school held elections for House and Senate Student Government. So now, instead of one possible candidate, we have two student government leaders.

Congratulations, boys, for being examples of integrity, honesty, loyalty and leadership, such that your peers chose you to be their leaders this year. With leaders like you, there is hope for our country!
